Eastern Oregon State College with a bachelor’s degree in community services focusing on senior services. Margaret lived in many places throughout her life, including Rapid City, S.D., Princeton, N.J., Phoenix, Ariz., Albuquerque, N.M., Fort Collins, Colo., and Winslow, Ariz. She was married first to Jon Michael Geist in 1959. In 2003, she married Patrick Faro. Margaret was employed as a law secretary in Winslow. After moving to La Grande, she held many positions in the community, including secretary and Christian education director for the First Presbyterian Church, where she taught various levels of Sunday school and led the “Senior Highs” group. She was a secretary and nutritionist for the Head Start Program; librarian at the La Grande Middle School; secretary for the special programs office at ESD; secretary for the La Grande School District business office; and secretary and aide at Greenwood school. She retired from the La Grande School District after 25 years of service. Margaret enjoyed sewing, quilting and cooking, and she participated in swimming, tennis and bicycling. She was a member of several organizations, including Chi Omega Sorority, Quilt Questers and AARP. She was a board member for Seniors Inc., and treasurer for Wes Lynn Women’s Circle. Margaret served as a leader for the Girl Scouts and Brownies for many years. Margaret enjoyed a close relationship with her father, her family said. Al and Terry, better known then as Papa and Nana. He is survived by his wife, Thelma “Terry” McRae; daughter Mary McRae of Billings; sons Duncan (Terri) McRae of Rapid City, S.D., and Colin McRae of Las Vegas, Nev.; brothers Arthur Glen (Donna) and John McRae, both in California, and his seven beloved grandchildren, Blade (Stephanie), Heather, Duncan, Ian, Alistair, Steven, and Colin.He was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Cathy Ann McRae; his parents; and his eldest brother, Don McRae.Memorial Services for Al McRae will be Saturday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church. Always an educator, Al requested his body be donated to Montana State University for medical education and research. The Cloyd Funeral Home is assisting the family.Friends are asked to make memorials to the Central Montana Foundation or the charity of their choice; memorials may be left at the Cloyd Funeral Home.  Condolences for the family may be posted online at www.cloydfuneralhome.com. Debbie of Mesa, Ariz., Richard and wife Sandy of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., and Jerry of Kirkland, Wash.; daughter Jan and husband Steve of Missoula, Mont.; brother Peter and wife Mary Ellen of Rapid City, S.D.; Sister-in-law Gertrude of Clarkston, Wash.; brother-in-law Jim of Mount Vernon, Wash.; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Peter and Carrie Dahlberg; brother Raymond; and sister Olive. Memorials may be sent to Lebanon First Assembly of God or a person’s choice. A memorial service to celebrate Henry’s life will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at the First Assembly of God in Lebanon. Huston-Jost Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
