They moved back to Corvallis to Stoneybrook, a retirement community, where Barbara lived for seven years. A year ago, she moved to Renton to be near her daughter. She is survived by her four daughters, Patty Wright and husband Gary, Susan Irish, Carolyn Mullenberg and husband Dean, and Janis Smith and partner Ruth Rockefeller; two granddaughters, Jennifer Smith and Amy Lechner; six great-grandchildren; sister Jean McClish; and brother Blaine Miller. She had an incredible life, which she lived to the fullest. “She will be greatly missed, but we are comforted knowing she is back with her husband of 64 years, and they are undoubtedly off on an incredible adventure.” She requested no service, but a small celebration of her life was held at the adult family home where she had been living. Her ashes will be joined with her husband’s and scattered on their beloved Blakely Island and the waters surrounding the San Juan Islands. (Albany Democrat-Herald)
