In 1996, she was summoned to testify at the Arusha International Court of Justice. Upon finishing her years in leadership, Sister Marie Julianne spent four years at Mount Saviour Monastery in Elmira. She is survived by her brother, Robert. A vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in St. Mary Center, 241 Lafayette Ave., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a. m. Wednesday in Annunciation Church, Lafayette Avenue and Grant Street. (The Buffalo News)

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Abbotsford on Thursday, Jan. 12 at 11 a.m. Father Dan Hackel will officiate. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in the Abbotsford Public Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Krause, Ryan Hoffman, Kraig Schindler, Cole Jannene, Garrett Schindler, Brandon Schindler, Zayne Rau, Sawyer Schindler and Evan Schindler. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Schindler Memorial Fund or the Mike Schindler Memorial Scholarship Fund. The Maurina Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. She owned Harvey’s Motel in Medford Survivors include seven daughters, Mary Tice of Elmira, N.Y., Madeline Halter of Allan, Wash., Linda Ferros of Grants Pass, Deborah Briggs of Colton, Candace Blevins of Medford, Melissa Gearhart of Springfield and Judith Jones of Eugene; three sons, Leslie Shafer of Oak Harbor, Wash., Stephen Shafer of Pasadena, Calif., and Dennis Gearhart of St. Helens; 25 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. A son, Douglas Shafer, died in 1984. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Ashland. Remembrances to the American Cancer Society. Brian Jones A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at the HEDCO Building at the University of Oregon in Eugene for Brian C.
