She also enjoyed biking, power-boating, snowmobiling and cruising the roads in their 1935 Chevrolet coupe, Corvette convertible with Gretchen. Pat and Dale enjoyed many weekends at local car shows and casinos. Five daughters were also born into the family: Patricia Laqua and JoAnn Bale of Mazeppa; Beverly Overton of Winona; Sharon of Minneapolis and Pamela (Cameron) Helder of Pine Island. Evelyn and John were later divorced; John passed away in 1991. On Nov. 2, 1955, she married Vernon Leitz, and they had a son, Vernon (Dawn), of Rochester.Evelyn worked many years as a waitress, and she spent over 20 years working for Waters Instruments, retiring in 1978.Evelyn loved cooking, gardening and sewing, but most of all fishing. Vernon and Evelyn had a season home in Lake City for many years, entertaining friends and family. Many stories of the olden days and tall tales of fishing were told around the table. Evelyn was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester.Evelyn also is survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren. In 1948, she married Ernest Janey and began a military lifestyle of living all over the USA and many foreign countries. Her daughter, Rebecca, was born in the Philippine Islands. They retired in the early 60's and began homemaking in Franklin County. Frances later married Charles "Bim" Cowan, of Cowan, Tenn. They enjoyed church, gardening and travel with the family. Marine Corps as an officer candidate in 1942 and received a commission. Mr. Thill served in the Pacific Theater—in the Bismarck Archipelago, and Solomon and Philippine islands—during World War II. He resigned his commission with the rank of captain and was a member of the Marine Corps Association. He became a special agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1946, and was assigned to the divisions in Philadelphia, Seattle and Buffalo before he retired in 1975. Mr. Thill was a past chairman of the Buffalo chapter of the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI.
