Arcadia died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at Mayo Clinic Health System — Franciscan Medical Center, Arcadia Nursing Home. Ralph was born Dec. 3, 1921, in Newcomb Valley to John V. and Anna (Pierzina) Soppa. On Nov. 14, 1950, Ralph married Donna Mae Patzner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Arcadia. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her four children, Gene J. (special friend, Bev) Marsolek of Indepen-dence, Marjorie Ann (David) Pierzina of Arcadia, Nancy M. (Keith) Anderson of Onalaska and Faith A. (Bryon) Crawford of Sparta; a sister, Helen Craig of Hale Corners, Wis.; two sisters-in-law, Verna M. Halama of Independence and Mary Maule of Alma; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Agatha was preceded in death by her husband; a grandson, Randy Marsolek; a great-grandson, Lucas Marsolek; a daughter-in-law, Betty L. Marsolek; six brothers, Albert, George, Tommy, Sylvester, August and Louis Halama; two sisters, Lucy Blaha and Clara Reck. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at the SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with the Very Rev. Woodrow H. Pace officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, where there will be a prayer service followed by a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
