Visitation: Thursday, March 29, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake, with a graveside service to follow at 11:30 a.m. in Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Kettle River. Not only was she loved, she was abundantly loved in return. Judy is survived by her husband, Gary, Winona; three children: Jim (Kim) Schmidt, Winona; Phil (Elaine) Schmidt, North Branch, Minn.; and Catherine Schmidt, Winona; five grandchildren: Abby, Lizzy, Hunter, Andrew and Ben; her mother, Phoebe Bambenek, Winona; a sister, Laurie (Fred) Krause, Winona; three brothers, James (Diane) Bambenek, Chillicothe, Ohio; Charles (Joyce) Bambenek, Farmington Hills, Mich.; and Gary (Claire) Bambenek, Prior Lake, Minn., and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, James V. Bambenek; granddaughter, Faith Schmidt; and sister, Marilyn Bambenek. Services to remember Judy will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at First Congregational UCC Church, Winona, with the Rev. Timothy Forester officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Winona, and will be private. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home, Winona, and beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the M. Judith Schmidt Endowed Scholar-ship at WSU Foundation.
