Corrections: December 8 - New York Times

Wed, Dec 7, 2011
New York that was told by the Supreme Court in 2001 that it could not prevent a Christian youth group from using space in a public school after-hours. The district is in Milford, not Medford. SPORTS Because of an editing error, a report in the Sports Briefing column on Tuesday misstated part of the name of the award given to the top college quarterback, which was won by Stanford’s Andrew Luck. It is the Johnny Unitas Award, not the Johnny United Award. (It is formally known as the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.) THE ARTS An art review on Saturday about the Art Basel Miami Beach fair misidentified, in some copies, an artist whose work was shown at the Untitled gallery booth. He is Matthew Chambers — not Matt Saunders, whose work was shown by the Harris Lieberman gallery. The review also misstated the size of a Frank Stella painting shown by the Edward Tyler Nahem gallery. It is 30 feet long, not 12 feet. • A review in the New Music column on Tuesday about Robin Thicke’s new album, “Love After War,” misstated the number of songs on it on which he has the sole song-writing credit. Besides “Boring,” there are four others. OBITUARIES An obituary on Monday about the cancer researcher Dr. Lloyd J. Old misspelled the surname of a colleague who worked with Dr. Old on immunological research. He was Dr. Edward A. Boyse, not Boyce. The obituary also misstated the length of Dr. Old’s tenure as scientific director of the Cancer Research Institute. He held that position from 1971 until 2011 — not until 2005. And the obituary gave an outdated title for Jill O’Donnell-Tormey of the Cancer Research Institute. She is the institute’s chief executive; she is no longer its executive director.
