Wiseman said. The organization, which was started in 2009, has been to disasters in Atlanta, Raleigh-Durham, Wilmington, Nashville, Jolpin, Missouri, and other areas. When they began looking for a place to relocate to, Greenville popped up in Forbes magazine as one of the top places to relocate a business, Wiseman said. The Upstate, he said, is very business friendly and the improvements made by the city of the Greenville have made the downtown an attractive area. Also, this particular part of South Carolina and the Southeast is among the least likely to have a major disaster, Wiseman said. “The last thing you want as a a disaster relief company is to put your headquarters in harm’s way, so it was a financial logistical and a safety decision to relocate here to Greenville,” he said. In 1837, the abolitionist group met in Hockessin at the Friends Meeting House, located on Old Wilmington Road. The fight against slavery continued in Delaware in January 1847, when 80 citizens signed a petition requesting to adopt a plan to abolish slavery, and on Feb. 4, 1847, 44 citizens signed a petition to enact a law to end slavery. Descendant of famous abolitionist Robert E. Seeley, a descendant of the famous abolitionist Thomas Garrett, spoke about Garrett’s involvement in the Underground Railroad. Garrett, who lived in Upper Darby, Pa., helped over 2,700 freedom seekers to freedom. Garrett was a white Quaker, whose family hid runaway slaves in its Delaware County farmhouse when he was a child. She was active in the Tipp City United Methodist Church where she served on several committees and was a board member at the Main Street Preschool. She was active in the American Association of University Women, Miami County Retired Teachers Association, and Delta Kama Gamma sorority for educators. She enjoyed book club, volunteering at The Clothesline, and working at the polls for the Miami County Board of Elections. She was vibrant, active, and admired by many in her community. Szczerba attended Corpus Christi grade school in Elsmere, Del, and Salesianum High School in Wilmington, Del., where he as was named to the All-State second team for football. He was an undergraduate of West Chester University, and received a master's degree from Wilmington University. Szczerba is survived by his wife, Kathy.
