Survivors include his wife, Marzena; parents, Dr. Jacob and Marie Steigerwald of Littleton, Colo.; brother, Rick (Dane), with nephews Nicholas and Matthew Steigerwald of Lakewood, Colo.; mother-in-law, Irena Slusarska of Belvidere . Carl was blessed with a special relationship with Uncle Tony and Aunt Martha Steigerwald, and his cousins Kristine and Lisa of Wisconsin. He will also be greatly missed by his aunts, uncles and cousins across the United States; three brothers-in-law, Adam (Lucyna), Bogdan (Bozena) and Jurek (Aneta) Slusarki; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins in Europe. He was always close to his co-workers and friends. Carl was predeceased by his sister, Ellen Steigerwald, and grandparents. Visitations at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL, 61108, will be held Friday, Feb. 10, from 4 until 8 p.m., with rosary at 8 p.m. Additional visitation will take place from 10 until 10:45 a.m. before the funeral Mass, officiated by Father Peter Sarnicki, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 201 Buckbee St., Rockford, IL 61104. A private family burial will take place in Winona. A memorial fund in Carl’s name is being established in lieu of flowers. (Winona Daily News)

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 64 years, Patricia (Green).; sons James II (Debbie) of Given, WV; Steve (Marsha) of Rockport, OH; daughters Cindy Melaragno (Vic) of Lakewood, OH and Suzanne Templin of Clendenin, WV;Grandchildren include Jamisa Bennett, Judd Templin, James Templin III, Clayton Templin, Kayla Melarangno, Brock Templin, Emma Melaragno, Parker Templin and Kiersten Templin; great grandchildren Jacob and Emma Lynn Templin.He is also survived by his sister, Joyce Mason of Knoxville, TN along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Ben Templin of Florida.He will be remembered for his love and devotion to his wife for whom he has been caregiver for 11 years due to her Alzheimer’s.While living in Lakewood, Ohio he was an active member of the Lakewood United Methodist Church. He was a faithful member of the Calvary United Methodist Church of Ripley, WV.In the past he spent many hours working for the Jackson County Animal Shelter, the Jackson County Commission on Aging and the Ripley Lions Club.He loved to play jokes, was a real sports fan and loved animals.A tribute to the life of James E. Jack E. Noel Sr., a longtime Derby resident, died Wednesday after a two-month decline, in Elder- Wood Health Care at Lakewood in Hamburg. He was 88. Noel was born in Buffalo, and attended city public schools. He graduated from Mc- Kinley High School. He also attended Bryant&Stratton. He trained as a machine shop apprentice. In 1943, he joined the Army Air Forces, and was a side gunner onaB-29, seeing action in Guam. During one mission, family members said, his plane was damaged and he had to land on Iwo Jima...
